To our dear friends of Yerba Buena Gardens Festival,
In a short period of time, the landscape for our San Francisco arts community and the world over have drastically shifted. We share this message in hopes everyone is doing well during this truly complex and challenging time.
Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is strictly adhering to the San Francisco Department of Health’s Shelter in Place Order (now extended to May 3, 2020) to suspend public gatherings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, like many of our colleagues in the arts. We are monitoring the constantly evolving situation and assessing the ways in which we can protect our employees and safely host our audiences and artists without putting anyone at risk. In the meantime, we are postponing the announcement of our 2020 Festival Season. This year marks our 20th anniversary year of hosting free, outdoor, and fresh performances, and we will continue to present such outstanding programs once we are able to gather safely as a community again.
We ask that you stay in touch with us as there are new developments each day. The well-being and safety of our beloved communities are always our top priority in this especially difficult time. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is committed to supporting our artistic community in the ways that we can. We will be sharing resources for artists and ways in which people can stay in touch with artists on our social media.
Wishing everyone kindness and grace as we all face these unique hardships together.
Linda, Steve, Marcelo, Laura, Zel, Mari
