Chalk Outlines

An emotionally charged production interweaving street dance, poetry, live song, and documentary theater, Embodiment Project’s bracing Chalk Outlines confronts lives unjustly lost by people of color due to state violence. Featuring all original music by Valerie Troutt performed live by her vocal ensemble MoonCandy, Chalk Outlines flows from Embodiment Project’s mission to promote appreciation and understanding of various street dance forms. In challenging traditional approaches to concert dance Embodiment Project has garnered widespread respect across the Bay Area dance scene.
