Develop your photography portfolio while documenting breathtaking performing arts in one of San Francisco’s most beautiful outdoor spaces. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is looking for Photography Volunteers to document YBG Festival performances and produce quality content for YBG Festival’s website and promotional materials. Photos will be used with credit on YBG Festival’s website and social media accounts, and may also be used for press or included in graphic designs for web or print. Receive insider access to world-class artists in music, dance, theater, circus and more, and build an impressive body of work while assisting a passionate non-profit organization in telling visual stories of impact.
Photographers must use their own camera and editing software.
Qualifications
- Ability to shoot and edit photographs with a quick turnaround (3-7days)
- Photo editing skills
- Respectful and professional attitude, receptive to feedback
- Willingness to approach artists or the public to sign a media release
- Genuine interest in performing arts and Bay Area arts communities
Desired Qualities in a candidate
- Interest in event/performance photography
- Flexible schedule
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend a minimum of six events or performances, 2 per month from May-October (dates to be determined)
- Capture striking photos of performing artists and engaged audiences
- Provide 25-50 hi-res photo files within 7 days
This position is unpaid. This is not a photography training internship, but rather an opportunity to exhibit photo-documentation skills.
