Every year, 826 Valencia works with public school students in San Francisco on the Young Authors’ Book Project. This year, with support from teachers and volunteer tutors, students at schools and in 826 Valencia’s Black Literary Achievement Club—part of the Black Students Initiative—wrote pieces on Black identity and the Black experience in America. This event marks the release of their compendium, Our History Is Deeper Than What They Tell Us. Students will receive copies of the book and celebrate being published authors with their families and the 826 Valencia community.
This is an in-person event that will be held at Yerba Buena Gardens Stage (by MLK Memorial waterfall).
