A neo-soul duo with a chill-folk-electronica sound, AstraLogik features the lithe vocals of Charito Soriano accompanied by the deft guitar work of Rowenalyn Conlu. Based in the Bay Area, the queer Pinay partnership has been shaped by their insistence on redefining what “success” and “happiness” mean, particularly through their lens as Filipino-American healers and survivors of violence and homelessness. Charito centers expression from trauma and mental health, while Rowenalyn expression focuses on energetic and holistic body awareness. They’ve been building a fanbase since the 2015 release of their debut EP Dream Awake, a collaboration with singer/songwriter/producer Tim Atlas (who was finalist in The Voice that year). The collaboration expanded AstraLogik’s sound, helping them stretch the boundaries the folkie singer/songwriter genre. They’ve continued to hone their songs and experiment with sonic textures, creating a powerful body of music that soothes, informs, inspires and transports listeners of all stripes. Their latest project, “Pinay Voltron,” features Jojo Ramirez, Camille Ramirez, Tiffany Madjus, Mahalina Celi, Jenn Clemena, Rowenalyn Conlu and Charito Soriano.
