As his band’s name suggests, Rafael Bustamante Sarria created La Gente SF as a vehicle to bring a cosmopolitan array of grooves to the people. A longtime Bay Area resident now based in Madrid, the charismatic frontman has honed a dance-inducing Caribbean sound blending cumbia and reggae, salsa, hip hop and reggaeton. La Gente SF’s fifth album, Entre 2 Mundos, captures the band’s international spirit with music videos recorded and filmed in San Francisco, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Morocco. Featuring Bustamante (lead vocals, guitar, percussion), Patricio Angulo (drum kit, vocals), Jordan Feinstein (keyboards, vocals), Julio De La Cruz (bass, vocals, percussion), Jesse Weber and Monica Maria Fimbrez (vocals, percussion), the sextet delivers politically conscious tunes designed to unite everyone in ecstatic movement.
