A screening of the hit 2024 musical Wicked transforms the Gardens into a grassy Emerald City when the SF Parks Alliance brings the Sundown Cinema program to the YBG for the first time. The free outdoor movie series presents beloved films in parks around the city. Moviegoers can expect local food, drinks, music, themed pre-show entertainment and no flying monkeys. Cheer, hiss and sing along as Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande’s Galinda Upland become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Hint: It ain’t easy being green.
