The California Historical Society is located  one block away from the Yerba Buena Gardens on Mission St., near New Montgomery St. The building  houses not only the CHS Collection, but also Heyday Bookstore and  serves as a meeting space. The CHS Collection serves to represent the environmental, economic, social, political, and cultural heritage of the entire state, including materials from outside California that contribute to a greater understanding of the state and its people.
