This program has two showings: Friday, June 14 at 6:30pm and Saturday, June 15 at 1pm.

An award-winning contemporary dance company known for transforming theaters and public spaces, RAWdance celebrates its 20th year of mind-expanding, heart-opening performance, curation and collaboration, and a decade of creating site specific work at Yerba Buena Gardens. Founded in San Francisco in 2004 by Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein, the company has been widely hailed as a “rare treasure,” in the words of Critical Dance, that “combines choreographic excellence, innovative structures, groundbreaking concepts and impeccable performances.” With thoughtful, emotionally charged works that pose questions exploring both broad social issues and the nitty gritty of interpersonal relations, RAWdance expanded bicoastally in 2019, maintaining its home in San Francisco while cultivating new programming in New York’s Hudson Valley. The company returns to the Gardens for a 20th anniversary celebration of repertory and new work.
